Hippocampus is one of the most important parts of the brain that concerns with memories. Information or memories are processed and kept in different areas called cerebral cortex which is the largest part of the brain. When you learn new thing, the brain will consider if the information should be kept or not.
Although memory is great, something can go wrong with it. In the case that is not serious, it’s when you forget things, such as names of your clients or forget where you put your glasses. The more a person grows up, the more they forget. For example of the serious case is when someone suffers from Alzheimer disease or strokes. Stokes is when the blood doesn’t go to all parts of the brain because of the block in blood vein or the burst of the vein.
A person may or may not notice the signs of his memory problem. When a person can’t remember important things, it’s considered to be a memory problem. The cause of the lost of memory may be a serious injure at his head and brain. Sometimes the person can’t remember what happened in the past for weeks, months, or even years.
To treat the person who has a brain injured, a doctor asks many questions to see his brain’s ability. For some case, a doctor may wants to take a picture of the person’s brain by using CT scan.
